Mansfield & Notts branch had a convoy of 6 capri's heading up the A1 on Friday 1st August 2008 en route to the Capri Club North East Summer Bash "Up North". We drew quite a few looks from other motorists. You can just imagine them as they passed us: "oh look, there's a capri, haven't seen one of those for a while!", then.... "and there's another one",... "and another!"....
We arrived at the show about 9pm with enough light to pitch our tents by, and find the beer by.
The weather held out and the show was excellent. The venue was tops and in a very picturesque location: right next to the river Tees. Croft on Tees is a very pretty little village (town?). The beer was astonishly cheap in the adjacent working mens club and we were treated to entertainment on Saturday night.
Sunday was the main show day and several members of our club won trophies:
Jef & Rachel: Best Modified Capri (1st) (A250 CCH)
Jaggsy and Jo: Best Mark II (1st) (Blue Mark 2)
Russ White: Best Mark III (2nd) (Black Mk3 3.0S).
Sam and Becka: Retro Ford Award (a huge pllatter and a years free subscription to Rero Ford Magazine) (Newly restored Blue Mark 3 2.0).
All of us received a bottle of specially labelled Chateau De Shite fine wine (a pic of a capri on the front!).
